A pumice-based lightweight filler block used in asmolen (ribbed-slab) flooring systems.
Asmolen blocks, made from pumice stone, are lightweight concrete building elements. The porous structure of pumice keeps the block light when mixed into the concrete, while also improving its heat-insulation properties.
Being lightweight makes asmolen blocks easier to transport and install; in heat-insulated building applications they can contribute to energy savings, and they may also offer sound-insulation properties.
The blocks generally have interlocking or engaging edges, which makes it easier to fit and secure them together when laying a floor. Available in 40×25×20 and 40×30×20 cm sizes, in grey.
