Interlocking (behaton) paving is a flooring system where the stones are laid on a sand bed and locked tightly edge-to-edge, preventing movement. It is widely used for pedestrian walkways, car parks, garden paths and similar outdoor surfaces.
The interlock strengthens the surface and keeps stones from shifting over time; it also lets rainwater pass through the joints into the ground, reducing puddling. It is a durable, long-lasting, low-maintenance surface.
