The tree surround edging ring is a precast concrete kerb, built from interlocking curved segments, that surrounds the base of a tree planted in a hard-paved surface such as a pavement, plaza or park, keeping soil and mulch from spreading onto the surrounding surface.

The segments are laid side by side to form a full or partial ring sized to the tree's trunk, which both marks out the planting area clearly and keeps pedestrian traffic off the bare soil.
