The highway kerb is a heavy-duty precast concrete edge stone used along highway edges and medians to keep vehicle traffic within the road boundary and separate the carriageway from the shoulder and surrounding ground. It is produced with a thicker, more robust cross-section than a municipal kerb.

It is typically laid together with reflective marker posts to improve the visibility of the road alignment, and is also used in median and central-divider applications.
