A precast concrete manhole/inspection chamber, made in several sizes, used at the maintenance and access points of sewage, rainwater and cable-infrastructure lines.
The concrete manhole (inspection chamber) is a structural unit set into the ground beneath reinforced-concrete works, used in sewage or rainwater drainage systems to collect, direct or hold water.
Larger chambers are also used as a cable access point for laying and routing underground infrastructure such as electrical lines, telephone lines, fibre-optic cables and similar communication/energy lines; these chambers provide access for maintaining and repairing that equipment.
