BP-1K

Single-component, bitumen-polyurethane based, elastic waterproofing material
A single-component, black, brushable-consistency bitumen-polyurethane based waterproofing material with 1500% elasticity. After completing its reaction, BP-1K forms a permanently elastic, seamless and joint-free waterproofing layer.
Areas of Use
- Terraces and roofs
- Lightweight roofs made of metal or fibre cement
- Water tanks (excluding drinking water reservoirs)
- Floors
- Foundations
- Bridge decks
- Cut-and-cover tunnels
- Irrigation channels
- Gypsum and cement panels
- Asphalt membranes
- EPDM membranes
- Bathrooms (under tiles)
- Verandas and balconies (under tiles)
- Planters and green roofs
Advantages
- Easy to apply.
- Since the applied area has no joints, water leakage is completely prevented.
- Highly flexible.
- Cures quickly.
- Resistant to standing water and freezing.
- Blocks water vapour.
- Has crack-bridging capability.
- Bonds effectively to any surface, primed or unprimed.
- Heat resistance performance over a wide temperature range, -30°C to 80°C
- Resistant to cold; the film retains its elasticity down to -30°C.
- Provides effective resistance to chemicals.
- Can also be used as a joint material.
- Excellent mechanical properties with high elongation, tensile, tear and abrasion resistance.

Application
During application of BP-1K insulation material, the substrate must be a clean, dry, oil-free and repaired surface. A primer must first be applied to the substrate. When choosing the primer, it must be determined whether the substrate is exposed to moisture. For substrates exposed to very slight moisture, PUR PRIMER 2K moisture-tolerant polyurethane primer or EPOXY PRIMER should be preferred. On normal dry substrates, PUR PRIMER-1K single-component polyurethane floor primer should be applied. After priming is finished and the substrate has dried, application of the insulation material can begin. The product must be mixed thoroughly before use and worked well into the substrate with a roller or brush. Although initial drying takes place within 4 hours, full drying occurs after 24 hours. Drying time may vary depending on temperature and humidity. Chamfer points can be coated together with the main area. Full chemical resistance is attained after 7 days. On surfaces that will later be covered with ceramic tiles, once the application is complete a thin coat of BP-1K is applied and, while the layer is still fresh, sieved dry sand is broadcast over the surface (as much as the surface can take). After drying, the unbonded aggregate is removed, and ceramic tiles can be applied to the roughened surface thus obtained using a cement-based adhesive.
