PUR W-2K

Two-component, solvent-free, polyurethane-based, elastic waterproofing material
A two-component, solvent-free, polyurethane-based waterproofing and coating material used for insulating and coating pools and water tanks.
Areas of Use
- Waterproofing coatings for pools and water tanks
- Drinking water distribution channels and ditches
- Surfaces in direct contact with drinking water
Advantages
- High bond strength after initial and final drying.
- Excellent chemical resistance; withstands various solvents and acids.
- Solvent-free.
- On first application the product's elasticity is very high; within 7 days it gradually decreases to its final level, but the material never loses its elasticity.
- Can be applied with reinforcement mesh.
- Adheres to metal, stone, wood and concrete surfaces, providing a good coating.
- UV resistant.
- Suitable for waterproofing underfloor-heated floors.

Application
During application of PUR W-2K insulation material, the substrate must be a clean, dry, oil-free and repaired surface. A primer must first be applied to the substrate. When choosing the primer, it must be determined whether the substrate is exposed to moisture. For substrates exposed to very slight moisture, PUR PRIMER-2K moisture-tolerant polyurethane primer or EPOXY PRIMER W should be preferred. On normal dry substrates, PUR PRIMER-1K single-component floor primer should be applied. After priming is finished and the substrate has dried, application of the insulation material can begin. The product must be mixed thoroughly before use and worked well into the substrate with a roller or brush. Although initial drying takes place within 4 hours, full drying occurs after 24 hours. Drying time may vary depending on temperature and humidity. Chamfer points can be coated together with the main area. Full chemical resistance is attained after 7 days. On surfaces that will later be covered with ceramic tiles, once the application is complete a thin coat of PUR W-2K is applied and, while the layer is still fresh, sieved dry sand is broadcast over the surface (as much as the surface can take). After drying, the unbonded aggregate is removed, and ceramic tiles can be applied to the roughened surface thus obtained using a cement-based adhesive.
