TP PROOF

PROOF Waterproofing

A high-grade membrane system, specially designed for under-slab and single-sided shoring-wall works, SBS bitumen-rubber based, capable of fully bonding with the structural concrete poured onto it

TERAPOL TP PROOF is a membrane-class, new-generation bitumen-based waterproofing sheet whose upper face is coated with special mineral sand, containing high levels of SBS bitumen and rubber, carried on a polyester-felt reinforcement and produced with modified bitumen-rubber technology. Thanks to the hydration heat of the structural concrete applied over it, it achieves complete and permanent adhesion, requires no protection concrete for its intended purpose, and is available in 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 mm thickness versions.

Areas of Use

  • TERAPOL TP PROOF membranes are used for the waterproofing works of the under-slab (sub-foundation) and blind-formwork (single-sided) shoring-wall concretes of reinforced-concrete structures below ground level.

Advantages

  • Provides positive-side waterproofing in the areas where it is applied.
  • Achieves a completely permanent and strong bond with the fresh structural concrete poured over it.
  • No protection concrete is needed; low cost.
  • Applied before the site concrete pour.
  • Does not allow water migration between the reinforced concrete and the waterproofing layer.
  • Easy to apply, requires no auxiliary products, saves time.
  • Its surface can be washed with a pressurised water jet.
  • Resistant to below-ground conditions.
  • Unaffected by hot-cold phase transitions.
  • Works together with the structure and is unaffected by ground settlement.

Application

Before the under-slab application of TERAPOL TP PROOF membrane, the blinding-concrete surface must be clean, smooth, sound and even, and the foundation side formwork must be erected so as to withstand the pressure of the concrete to be poured. In vertical applications, the waterproofing surface onto which the membrane will be applied must be even and smooth, cleared of elements that could damage the membrane during structural settlement, and designed to be strong enough to withstand the pressure of the concrete poured into the formwork without causing formwork blow-outs. Application is not recommended in weather below 5°C or in rainy conditions; suitable weather conditions should be awaited. The membrane type of appropriate thickness should be selected according to the excavation depth and the hydrostatic water pressure conditions. (In this case, the system of suitable thickness for your project must be determined in consultation with TERAPOL.) It is important that the TERAPOL TP PROOF membrane system is installed by professional, expert applicator teams with full command of the product, the system and the details. For expert applicator team support, contact TERAPOL YAPI KİMYASALLARI. The side laps of TERAPOL TP PROOF membranes are self-marked. The end laps are bonded allowing for a 10 cm overlap. A blowtorch flame must be used for bonding the laps. The membrane application should be started from the formwork corner junctions and continued from there. On foundation formwork sides with backfilled (double-sided) wall construction, the membrane should be finished at least 10 cm below the screed level. In foundation areas where blind-formwork (single-sided) walls will be built, the membrane should be taken upwards so as to extend at least 50 cm beyond the first wall starter-bar length. In addition to the TERAPOL TP PROOF membranes used in under-slab and blind-formwork (single-sided) wall waterproofing applications, TERAPOL bitumen-based liquid products can be used in backfilled wall waterproofing applications so that the system works fully and at its best efficiency.
